Highlights of our festival

Lots to do and see !

Garlic Cooking and Eating - Sign up for the popular garlic eating contest and cheer on your favourite contestant.

Watch garlic cooking demonstrations and Q &A with a local chef.

Kids & Community - featuring fun activities for children which include rock painting, creating a giant chalk board drawing, and playing in a pool of grain.

People’s Choice Art Contest - Create an original, garlic-inspired work of art in any medium, the winner will get a prize and will be featured on next years poster.

Garlic, Vegetable, Herb and Photography Judging, and Garlic Poetry - Are you convinced your vegetables are the best, your herbs the tastiest, or your garlic is the biggest? 

Enter them in the garlic, vegetable and herb competition classes. 

From Most Unusual Shape to Best Braid and Most Varieties Grown, there is a garlic class to fit every size and shape of garlic.

If the camera is your preferred tool, the photography contest is perfect for you. Photo themes are: Anything Garlic!” 

“Life on the Farm” and “Pets and People.”

Are you a great poet, and want everyone to know it? 

Write a garlic-inspired poem or song to be shared at the Festival.

Competition classes are open to everyone. Bring all entries to the information booth before 10 am on festival day.

Free Workshops are 

scheduled throughout the day! 

Audit all for free or take home  a braid or painting for a small material fee of $5

Learn to make and decorate a garlic braid with Veronica Faulkner from Garlic Goddess in Grindrod, BC.

If you want to take home a braid from  the Garlic Braiding Workshop sign up for a fee of $5 for materials at the Info Booth.

Learn how to grow garlic at the Garlic Growing Workshop with Ian Richardson from Rocky Ridge Garlic in Mara, BC.

Learn how to paint garlic with Staar Caswell at the Sip'nPaint workshop.

Sign up to take home a painting for $5 for materials at the Info Booth.
